ABOUT ME
Natalie is an effective leader, cerebral economist, and resourceful urban strategist with more than a decade of experience blending statistical analysis, institutional insights, and community input to improve the impact and transparency of governments and nonprofits. She has a proven track record of developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems. She is an engaging communicator who values collaboration and excels at public speaking. Her technical skills include policy analysis, cost-benefit analysis, econometric/regression analysis (Stata), spatial analysis (ArcGIS), graphic design, and user experience.
Her work centers on community development, housing, urban resilience, vacant property adaptation, public land management, land banking, green infrastructure, and real estate valuation and taxation. She works with an array of government and nonprofit organizations that have included the City of Flint, Genesee County Land Bank Authority, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and Center for Community Progress. Natalie has led the development and implementation of bold programs and projects. She is the author of nationally recognized plans. She thrives at public speaking and values genuine community engagement. Much of Natalie’s work is devoted to creating data-driven planning products that prioritize transparency and improving quality of life. She has authored several policy reports and academic papers, including publications on municipal finance and tax foreclosure. Her planning, policy, and research is grounded by extensive experience working with grassroots organizations and community-based groups. Natalie holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from the James Madison College at Michigan State University. She is currently completing a PhD in urban economics at the London School of Economics and Political science where her research centers on urban housing and resilience. She is a proud native of Flint, Michigan.
